About Us
Steven Williams, an MOT tester with more than 25 years experience has opened this independent and impartial MOT testing station on Newport Business Centre. It is the only one of its kind in the area.

“We are a different kind of station in that we do not do repairs, welding or servicing.”
says Steve. “We just do the MOTs. Should your car be unfortunate enough to fail you can then take your car wherever you wish to be repaired and we will carry out a free retest within 10 working days. I have been operating this form of station for the last 25 years in Rugby and it is one that Martin Lewis, Radio 2’s money saving expert recommends. You can read all about them on his web site (moneysavingexpert.com/mot)”.

The station is a family run affair, with brother-in-law, Paul Daniels, as manager and his daughter’s partner, Gareth Walker, the second tester. The female members of the family, Laura, Carole and Gemma, have been responsible, for decor and advertising.

Steve added “Having a valid MOT certificate is important not only for legality but also for safety. Newport presents us with an ideal opportunity to showcase our expertise, with the very latest equipment and technology. By opening this facility, where we do not carry out servicing, repairs or welding, we can bring to the people of Newport a very different, and stress free MOT experience”. We provide a very warm waiting room, with a viewing area so you can watch your car being tested. There is plenty of reading material particularly for the female car owner, with a free hot drinks dispenser and very clean male and female toilets. Our aim is to make your MOT test a pleasant and friendly experience. At present we can test cars and most vans (Classes 1V & V11); soon we will be adding Minibuses, (Class V Light), Quads, 3 wheelers and trikes.

You can find the station at Unit 9 Newport Business Centre, Corporation Road, Newport NP19 4RF. The telephone number is 01633282752. Ask for either Paul or Gareth when you telephone, or book online via this website. There are two units that do MOTs on the site; be sure you come to the right one by following the signs.
